UPDATE: Javon Thomas sentenced to 110 years in prison


UPDATE: Javon Thomas was sentenced to 110 years in prison. Thomas was sentenced to 55 years for murder and 55 years for gang enhancement.

PREVIOUS:A St. Joseph County jury found Javon Thomas guilty of murder Wednesday evening for the shooting death of William Williams.

Williams was shot and killed while attending of a party on the 1300 block of North College St. in November of 2010. Police spoke to witnesses who said Thomas, 21, stepped from behind a neighboring home and fired several shots at Williams, one of which struck him in the torso. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.

Thomas was also found guilty of the Criminal Gang Sentencing Enhancement statute, and was identified in court documents as a member of the "Cash Out Boyz" gang, rivals to the gang of which Williams was believed to be a member.
