South Bend woman arrested for allegedly bringing drugs into prison

A South Bend woman is in custody after police say she trafficked illegal drugs into a state prison.

A correctional officer at the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City arrested Nancy Odynski, 42, Sunday for allegedly trafficking several packages believed to contain K2, suboxone and tobacco while visiting her incarcerated friend.

Police say Odynski was visiting Craig Hardesty, who is currently serving a four-year sentence from St. Joseph County for theft and receiving stolen property. Hardesty is not eligible to be released until March of 2016.

Odynski faces a preliminary charge of Trafficking, a Class C Felony, which could potentially carry an eight-year prison sentence.
