Kosciusko County Sheriff warns of viral email

The Kosciusko County Sheriff Department is warning people about fake court notice emails being circulated that could be carrying a harmful virus.

Police say they received report of an email that tells the recipient to show up for a court hearing at a certain time and date. They say that when the recipient opens the email, a potential virus is attached to their account from an outside source.

The Kosciusko County Clerk's Office is reminding everyone that they do not send notices for court hearings through email. If anyone receives this type of email, or any suspicious email, police recommend deleting the email without opening it.
