UPDATE: Indiana Michigan Power and NIPSCO still report that over 16,000 customers, as of 10 p.m. tonight, are without power due to Monday's severe weather

I&M approximately still has 12,000 customers without power throughout Michiana.

In South Bend there are 3,500 customers without power. While in Michigan there are 8,500 customers still without power.

The company still says full restoration will be done Saturday, July 5th at 6 p.m.

NIPSCO still says there are 4000 customers without power.

PREVIOUS: As of mid-day Thursday, I&M says the total number of customers without power has gone up from last night, after a fallen tree in South Bend created some new outages. Roughly 23,000 Michiana I&M customers are still without service.

NIPSCO reported Thursday morning that 14,000 customers were still without power, while Midwest Energy Cooperative has restored service to nearly all of their customers, with less than 100 customers still waiting for their power to come back.

PREVIOUS: Indiana Michigan Power says they have restored power to more than half of the 70,400 customers who lost power Monday night. They are still reporting 23,900 customers without power throughout Michiana. There is a team of more than 1000 utility professionals working to quickly restore service to the remaining homes.

I&M says all power will be restored to all of Michiana this Saturday, July 5th, at 6 p.m.

In Indiana there are still 9,200 customers without power in Michiana and in Michigan there are 14,700 with no power.

I&M says Indiana customers can report their outage by visiting their website or calling 1-800-311-4634 and in Michigan call 1-800-311-6424.

PREVIOUS: I&M reports total number of customers without power has dropped under 40,000 as of 4:00pm. They say they have 900 staff members currently working on restoration efforts, with over 150 additional employees coming in to help Wednesday night.

Midwest Energy Cooperative reports less than 800 now without power in their Southwestern Michigan service area.

PREVIOUS: The weather is near ideal across Michiana on Wednesday, but many are still without power after heavy storms hit the area on Monday night and early Tuesday morning.

At their most recent update, Indiana & Michigan Power said they have roughly 46,600 customers without power. I&M said they also have over 100 damaged utility poles, 85 damaged crossarms in addition to 29 transformers needing repair. Most of that damage is concentrated in South Bend, where 57 poles and 47 crossarms have been damaged.

Restoration is gradual across the area, but I&M does not expect full restoration in South Bend and Benton Harbor until Saturday evening. Elkhart is expected to have full restoration by Thursday evening.

I&M says outages peaked at over 74,00 customers without power.

NIPSCO, which reported 121,000 customers without power at one point, reported this morning they are still working to restore service to 34,000 customers as of Wednesday morning, with most of their damage being in Elkhart County. Shortly after noon, NIPSCO reported that the number of customers without power had dropped to 32,000, and they expect 95% of customers to be restored by the end of Wednesday, and complete restoration by the end of Thursday.

NIPSCO says they received 130 separate reports of broken poles and 580 reports of downed power lines.

Midwest Energy Cooperative reported this morning they still have 2,100 customers without power in their Southwest Michigan service area. By 3:30pm, only 800 customers were still without power.

These numbers are all estimates and constantly updating as crews work to repair damage. FOX28 will provide updates to this story as they become available.
