BERRIEN COUNTY -

UPDATE: Michigan State Police confirm the driver suspected to have struck Delaina Tripp's body with his car has turned himself in. Police say he is a 29-year-old male who was on his way to work when he collided with Tripp. Right now, he is only being questioned by police as a witness and no charges will be filed until all police reports are filed to the Berrien County Prosecutors Office.

Police say autopsies were conducted Tuesday morning on both Delaina and David Tripp, and preliminary results indicate Delaina was dead before she was hit by the driver's Honda Accord.

PREVIOUS: Michigan State Police (MSP) are investigating a suspected murder-suicide in Berrien County in the area of Stevensville, MI.

Inspectors at the MSP District 5 post are on the scene in the 400 block of John Beers Rd. LT. Chuck Christensen of MSP says police found the body of a man and woman shortly after 6:00 am Monday morning, both shot to death, at separate but nearby scenes near a house on a residential block. The victims have been identified as Delaina Tripp, 41, and David Tripp, 56, and were reportedly married.

Delaina was found at the side of the road and police say she was struck by a vehicle. Detectives believe it was accidental, and are still in search of the driver of the vehicle that struck her. At this time, MSP believes David shot Delaina to death, and then committed suicide. Police believe this was a domestic dispute.

The Berrien County Sheriff's Department says police have gone to the couple's residence in the past, one for a confirmed call of domestic disturbance.
