SOUTH BEND -

Three people were arrested Monday morning after a early hours police chase that ended on Notre Dame campus.

South Bend Police say the chase started near the intersection of Hickory & McKinley just before 3:00am. They say an officer was looking for a Pontiac G6 involved in an incident in River Park. When he tried to pull over the suspects' vehicle, they drove off. Capt. Phil Trent says the suspects were not involved in the incident in River Park, but likely fled because they had been drinking.

The chase went to Notre Dame campus and ended near the athletic fields when the car stopped and all three suspects fled on foot.

All three people in the car were apprehended. The driver, Camron Newcomer, 20, was arrested for Resisting by Flight, Reckless Driving and Minor Consuming. Kayla Stanton and Xavier Keith, both 19, were both arrested for Minor Consuming and Resisting by Flight.
