MISHAWAKA - The St. Joseph Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) announced a formal naming and blessing ceremony will take place this Thursday for the new Paqui and Brian Kelly Comprehensive Breast Center.

SJRMC officials say the new center will allow women access to:

  • State-of-the-art screening detection and diagnostic technology, including 3D mammography.
  • A peaceful, comfortable patient-centered environment
  • Access to forward-thinking clinical trials and research
  • Comprehensive genetic screening, genetic testing and genetic counseling services
  • Individualized patient consultation, education, treatment and community support resources
  • A multi-disciplinary breast cancer team approach that assures all patients are reviewed by a team of experts who work closely with the patient to create an individualized treatment plan
The center was made possible by a donation from the Kelly Cares Foundation.

"We are honored to have Paqui and Brian Kelly join us to create a superior patient care experience for the women of our community," Albert Gutierrez, president and CEO for the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, said.

Paqui Kelly, a two-time breast cancer survivor, created the Kelly Cares Foundation with her husband, Brian, to support initiatives in health, community and education.

"Brian and I are committed through our foundation work in assisting those in need during their cancer journey," Paqui said

The ceremony will be held Thursday July 10th at 3:30 p.m. at the Medical Office Building
