Trial date set for driver who allegedly hit Mishawaka jogger while intoxicated

The trial date was set Tuesday for Quentin Burnley, who stands accused of Causing Serious Bodily Injury While Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated for his alleged role in a crash that injured a jogger in May.

According to court documents, Tiffany Brantley, 30 was injured when a car driven by Burnley, 23, crossed over the centerline of Jefferson Blvd., jumped the sidewalk and struck her while she was jogging shortly before 7:00am on May 29. Prosecutors say St. Joseph County investigators arrested Burnley at the scene after determining that Burnley was the driver and was intoxicated. Burnley's trial is scheduled for Sept. 24

Initial reports of Brantley's condition indicating that her injuries were life-threatening and that she suffered a broken tibia and fibula, as well as a shattered pelvis. At last update, Brantley is still recovering in a hospital.
