Skylar Diggins named a starter for the WNBA West team

South Bend Washington grad Skylar Diggins has been named a starter for the WNBA West All Star team.  In her 2nd year, she's not only doubled her scoring output, but she's currently #2 in the league in scoring, #5 in assists and she's 2nd out of all the pros in minutes played.  It's been quite a season so far for the Notre Dame grad.  She said on the halftime show Tuesday night, "After the season last year, I did a lot of watching old games and my dad, who was my AU coach and high school coach growing up, sat down and watched film together and just talking about areas of improvement. After last year, I wasn't happy with the product I put on the court individually. I worked really hard, first off, building my body and strength and being able to obviously finish in the lane and everybody's great at this level so you have to be able to find your competitive edge. And for me it just took a year of experience and adjustment. This year, I think coach Fred and Pettison have been helping me instill that confidence in me and my teammates looking to me to be a leader on this team has given me a lot of confidence."  Diggins scored 23 points Tuesday in a 78-76 loss against Indiana.
