Mishawaka Police asking for the public's help after two assaults in Kamm's Island Park

Posted:

Mishawaka Police are asking for the public's help identifying a man they think is responsible for a pair of assaults on women at Kamm's Island Park.

Police say the first assault happened at around 4:00pm on June 27. They say the victim told them the suspect was riding on a bicycle when he approached her while she was walking her dog, knocked her to the ground and grabbed her with one arm. The suspect fled when the victim started to scream for help.

The second assault, according to police, happened on the morning of July 5 at approximately 9:30am. Police say the victim told them the suspect came up from behind her while she was walking with a friend, put his hand over her mouth and pulled her backwards before again fleeing when she screamed for help.

Police described the suspect as a 5-foot, 7-inch black male with a dark complexion and a thin build. They say he appears to be in his early 20's and was described by one of the victims as wearing a ball cap with a large flat bill and tight-fitting bike shorts.

Anyone with information about these assaults is being asked to call the Mishawaka Police Detective Bureau at 574-258-1684
