UPDATE: South Bend police searching for one suspect in shooting


UPDATE: South Bend Police continue to search for one suspect described by South Bend Police Chief Steve Smith as a young man age 17 to 20. 

He was last seen heading east on Fairview Avenue. 

Around 8:30, police tweeted that two people were shot. Police say that both shot are conscious and alert at a local hospital.

When asked if this was a home invasion, Chief Smith described it as a altercation.

No arrests have been made. Police did take two people back to the station to be interview.

Police are still searching throughout the house where the two people were shot.

PREVIOUS: South Bend Police are responding to a shooting in the 400 Block of East Fairview.

Around 8:30 tonight, the South Bend Police Department tweeted that two people were shot. Police also say that both of those people are conscious and alert.

Police are still looking for one suspect in the shooting. Police say that person was last seen going eastbound.
