Elkhart County Fair Opens Friday

Posted:
Friday marks the opening day for one of the largest county fairs in the nation. The Elkhart County 4-H Fair kicked off, and this year, there's something for everyone.  The fair runs through next Saturday, July 26th and tickets are just 8-dollars.

For the food enthusiast, the fair has everything from BBQ chicken to fried gatorade. Carnival rides start everyday at noon, and the concert series kicks off Saturday night.

During the 2013 Fair more than 280,000 people attended over the nine-day event. The Fair Board’s goal is not only to be a big event, but to be one of the best. The Fair takes pride in preserving quality family entertainment, free grandstand shows, positive competitions & terrific ‘Fair Food’.

"Watching how the community comes together it's like watching family reunions out here. In fact, there's a Tuesday reunion. Folks travel from 4 different states, and they take a picture right at one spot at the fair, so that's kind of neat to see the coming together, kind of like a 'Come back to the fair,'" says Tim Yoder, President of the Elkhart County 4-H Fair.

The Fairgrounds is located at 17746 County Road 34 Goshen, Indiana 46528
