Mishawaka woman who was struck by a vehicle while jogging is out of hospital and attends event held for her

People were out at Beutter Park in Mishawaka on Saturday morning taking advantage of the weather by running and walking. But they were also raising money. It was part of a community run/walk for Tiffany Brantley.

Brantley was the woman who was hit by a driver police say was under the influence while she was out jogging back on May 29. Brantley was just recently released from the hospital.

"I'm great. I'm so blessed. It's just been a wonderful day. It's all the love and the support,” Brantley said. “I couldn't ask for anything more. I mean this is more than enough. This is tremendous. I'm lost at words."

A number of groups and organizations were in attendance to show support for Brantley. That included Mothers Against Drunk Driving-Indiana. Victims Services Specialist for the group Lael Hill says Brantley had a smile on her face as soon as she arrived.

"It's truly an inspiration to meet someone that was a victim of this crime with serious injuries like her and to have her still be positive," Hill said.

Brantley pushed herself in her wheelchair along the same route the rest of the people who came out to run and walk. She says she has full mobility throughout her entire body and says she will begin outpatient physical therapy soon.

A trial was set for the driver of the vehicle that hit Brantley.
