KOSCIUSKO COUNTY -

Police in Kosciusko County say a car accident has killed one person and injured six others, two of them critically.

It happened around 3:30 Sunday afternoon on State Road 13 in North Webster.

Police say Jeremy Valentine, 39, of Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, was killed on impact when his 2012 Mazda minivan was struck head-on by a red Ford F-250 that crossed over the centerline while traveling northbound on SR 13. The diesel fuel tank of the F-250 ignited after the crash, and multiple local fire departments worked to extinguish the resulting blaze.

Multiple helicopters were called in to airlift victims to nearby hospitals. Three other members of the Valentine family were hospitalized after the crash. Seana, 38, was classified as being in "very critical" condition. Molly, 9, and Luke, 7, were also hospitalized.

Police say the red Ford F-250 was driven by Matthew Wagoner, 29, of Syracuse. Wagoner was reported to be in critical condition. There were two children in the Ford F-250 as well. Matthew C. Wagoner, 2, and Tyson Wagoner, 5, were also hospitalized.

The crash is still under investigation and toxicology results have yet to be reported.
