Goshen Police respond to call regarding animals that appeared abandoned and neglected

The Goshen Police Department responded to a call on Thursday afternoon regarding animals that appeared to be abandoned or neglected. Officers responded to the call on the 400 block of 8th Street and found several cats and dogs in need of care.

The Elkhart Humane Shelter was called and helped to assist with the animals and have taken custody of them.

Witnesses tell FOX28 they saw two dogs and about seven cats taken from the home.

An investigation is ongoing.
