Dance broke out at the food court of University Park Mall in Mishawaka. The Christian Dance Academy held a flash mob to celebrate National Dance Day.

The dance featured members from the dance academy as well as their own family members. That meant people of all ages came out to perform their minute and a half routine. The mob danced to the song “Happy” by Pharrell Williams.

The group says the event is put on to get people moving and active.

Jodi Davis and her daughter participated in the flash mob. "We wanted to come out for National Dance Day and have fun, make some memories with girls while they get to enjoy dance," Davis said.

Colette Keller started the routine and as other dancers joined in, the crowd watching them also grew larger. "When people start to watch you dance it's always fun to put on a performance for people and show them how much fun you're having and I guess build off their enthusiasm so that's what's always fun about a crowd," Keller said.

This was the third annual flash mob put on by the Christian Dance Academy. National Dance Day is always celebrated on the last Saturday of July.
