St. Patrick's County Park to commemorate 13th anniversary of 9-11

SOUTH BEND - St. Patrick's County Park in South Bend invites you to join it in commemorating the 13th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks.

On Thursday, September 11th, at 9am, the Clay Fire Territory will perform the “Ringing of the Bell” ceremony at park's 9-11 Memorial.

The memorial sculpture commemorates the events of September 11, 2001 and the site is a place for quiet contemplation.  People are welcome to visit the memorial during park hours, which are 10am to 8:30pm through September 14th.

A park entrance fee is charged Friday through Sunday after 10am.
The Freedom Memorial includes the installation of a sculpture entitled "Standing Tall", which was designed by area artist Robert Kuntz.  A section of steel beam from Ground Zero in New York City is placed in front of the sculpture.  Individuals and area landscapers donated native trees to the site.
