One dead after vehicle crash on State Road 19 in Elkhart


UPDATE: The Elkhart Police Department have identified the individuals involved in the vehicle passenger crash Monday Evening.

The individual who died as a result of the crash has been identified as Darryl Foyuth, 66, of Lawrenceville, NJ, according to the Elkhart Police. The second pedestrian has been identified as Maryanne Foyuth, 60 of Lawrenceville, NJ. The driver was identified as Valerie Neal, 57, of Elkhart.

PREVIOUS: One person is dead after being struck by a vehicle on the north side of Elkhart Monday evening.

Officers from the Elkhart Police Department and Fire Department were dispatched to a vehicle pedestrian crash 9:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of State Road 19 and Windsor on the north side of Elkhart. When officers arrived at the scene they discovered two pedestrians were struck in the roadway by a single vehicle, according to a press release by the Elkhart Police Department.

One of the pedestrians was transported to Elkhart General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to the police department. The other pedestrian was transported to South Bend Memorial hospital where the pedestrian died from injuries related to the crash.

Elkhart Police say alcohol or drugs are not believed to be a factor in the crash. The name of the driver and victims have not been released.
