Allison Hayes was born and raised right here in Michiana - Niles, Michigan. At Niles High School, Allison was a varsity letter winner in three sports. She was the editor of her school newspaper and a guest sports columnist for the Niles Daily Star. It was her print journalism experience which sparked her career in the media.
Allison loves being back in Michiana covering all of the local teams she grew up watching. Since being back, she won an Indiana Associated Press award for "Best Sports Photography" and was a part of the FOX 28 News team recognized by the Indiana Associated Press for the continuing coverage of the hiring of Charlie Weis as the head football coach at Notre Dame.
Allison attended the University of Florida, where she graduated with a degree in Telecommunication and a Masters in Commercial Recreation and Sports Tourism.
Before coming to FOX 28 in September 2004, Allison worked for WCJB in Gainesville, FL, where she worked as a sports photographer, producer, reporter and anchor. She then took a job with Sunshine Network, covering university and high school sports throughout the state of Florida.
When Allison is not working she loves spending time with her husband, Rob, and their daughter, Emery Clementine.
You can see Allison on Friday night's Sports Extra with Dean Huppert, anchoring sports on Saturday and Sunday nights, and during the week reporting on sports stories that matter to you.
