FOX 28 offers opportunities for interns in the following departments:
NEWS DEPARTMENT - Reporters, photographers, producers
STUDIO PRODUCTION - Studio camera, audio, newscast directing
CREATIVE SERVICES - Commercial production - writing & producing
There are limited spaces available for interns during each semester. Typically, intern semesters are broken into: Spring, Summer and Fall.
The Internship opportunities with WSJV FOX 28 follow these guidelines:
1. Interns must received credit from a college or university. These are unpaid internships and they typically require 12-16 hours of work per week. These scheduled days may fall on any days of the week, including weekends.
2. Inters will be allowed to work and observe. However, they work will not be used on the air. It is a chance to build material for your portfolio or resume.
3. There is no guarantee of employment at the conclusion of an internship.
4. The station reserves the right to terminate an internship at any time, should the supervisor determine there is cause to terminate the internship.
The internship can be a beneficial as the intern desires. FOX 28 will offer a supportive atmosphere, advice and guidance to the intern. It is up to the intern to make the most of this practical experience.
