Edible Outdoor Ornaments

Posted:

Ga Ga Over Garland
Suggested Materials:

twine or yarn
tapestry  or plastic children's needle
raw peanuts (in shells)
apples (cut into chunks)
grapes
cranberries
oranges (peeled in slices)

Using a tapestry or plastic needle, string edible items together on yarn or twine.  Peanut shells make handy ends of the garland to tie off both ends of a garland string, or tie the ends together to make a loop.  Place garland in trees or bushes throughout the yard.

Birdy Bagels
Suggested materials:
plain  or whole wheat bagels
plain peanut butter
pird seed
ribbon or yarn

Split bagels in half and let harden over night (or toast).   Spread peanut butter over both sides of each bagel slice. Sprinkle with bird seeds. Tie ribbon or yarn through bagel hole and hang throughout the yard.

Ice Cream Cone Yummies
Suggested Materials:
ice cream cone (flat bottomed kind is easiest to work with)
nuts and seeds
fruits and berries (large pieces diced up)
ribbon or yarn

hole punch

Use the hole punch (or chopstick or similar item) to create two holes on opposite sides of the ice cream cone top.  Tie yarn or ribbon through the holes and use to serve as a hanger.  Place edible items inside the cone and hang throughout the yard.
