Valentine's Day Sugar Cookie
Ingredients:
Sugar, 1 cup
Butter, 2 cup
Eggs, 1 each
Cake Flour, 3 cup
Bamboo skewers
Directions:
Cream the butter and sugar by mixing together
Add the egg
Mix in the flour
Once all ingredients are well mixed, roll out the cookie dough about 1/4 inch thick. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut the cookies. Press the skewers into the cookies at the bottom point, ensuring they are surrounded by the dough. Smooth the surface if necessary. Bake in a pre-heated 325 degree oven for 15 minutes, or until the edges become golden.
After the cookies cool, apply icing (recipe follows) and decorate as desired.
Arrange the cookies in a mug or glass. We used a styrofoam ball and red hot candies to hold the skewers and cookies in place.
Icing Recipe
Ingredients:
Powdered Sugar 1 cup
Vanilla to taste 1 tsp
Water 2 Tbl.
Directions:
Mix until combined
